❓What is the difference between "Discover Your American Accent" and "Pronunciation Booster" and how do you choose between them?❓

✅ 1. Length

DYAA - 4 months

PB - 2 months

✅ 2. Depth

DYAA - Theory and practice intertwined, very detailed. We thoroughly study every single sound and their variations, connected speech features, rhythm, assimilations etc.

PB - It's a very practical course. We will incorporate all those things into your speech, get to the bottom of intonation patterns, teach you how to shadow correctly. There won't be that much theory, it will mostly be about activating it all consciously

✅ 3. Frequency

DYAA - You have two classes per week, homework and some extra material in between them (25 classes in total)

PB - You will have something to study and practice every single day Monday to Friday, sometimes even on the weekends. Besides shadowing analysis videos, you will also watch lots of educational videos on intonation, assimilations, some intrinsically American sounds and what not to review. Every other weekend we will meet on Zoom to deal with the most common mistakes (3 sessions)

✅ 4. Homework

DYAA - you practice our topic, record a video for us to check and then receive our feedback exactly on the sounds/phenomena that we are studying

PB - you shadow a piece after having watched my breakdown of it, record and submit it and then receive feedback on the whole piece, focused on the things I asked you to pay attention to (approx. 21 shadowing piece + your own final task)

✅ 5. Outcome

DYAA - you will understand American phonetics clearly; know exactly what, how and why to do it; will be able to teach it to others; sound more natural, clear, beautiful and American-like; gain a solid foundation for further practice

PB - you will automatise most things without having to think about it too much; feel much more confident with your accent; stop dreading camera; start using more natural intonation patterns; learn how take advantage of shadowing further without my help; have lots of fun along the way

✅ 6. Which one first?

DYAA - doing this course first will: make sure you understand all my instructions in PB well; be more mindful while shadowing; get to the bottom of each sound and have no doubts in PB; PB will be your second stage when you activate all the acquired knowledge in your speech and see all things we talked about in the first course in action;

PB - doing this course first will: give you a better practical understanding of certain features and sounds of American sounds that usually helps people have a much smoother transition into DYAA; boost your confidence which helps a lot cuz DYAA is a tough course that often crushes people's self-esteem; allow you to improve your accent in a more fun way
