I'll try to be brief :) this course is definitely worth doing. So many revelations!!! I joined it because I wanted to get rid of my Russian pronunciation and thanks to Julia and her course I'm on my way to it as it is a long road but now I finally know what is wrong and can work on it! Though I'm already feeling how my pronunciation is changing even after three months of this course. If you practice consistently and follow all recommendations you'll notice the difference quite quickly.
I have all the information and videos and loads of practical materials so I can continue improving by myself.
I had a phonetic course at uni (yeh, maybe I was inattentive or the curriculum was poor) but I'm sure a right teaching approach makes a great deal of difference and Julia's course proved it once again.

So, it took me two years to make a decision to take Julia's courses. First of all I could see that these courses are something serious and I wasn't that self-confident. I wasn't sure if I could manage it. But it turned out that the course has organised system, Julia's explanations are short, but full of information you need. I don't like long videos, so when I saw that course's videos last 9-20 minutes, I found them perfect. One more thing that I love about the course, is that there are pdf files with some rules and practice.
The main reason why I chose American Accent is Julia herself. It was my dream to be her student. I admire her accent. She's the perfect example of diligence and devotedness. Moreover Julia is so amiable and caring. To be honest I was surprised that she is always ready to hear out, give some advice or motivate.
From time to time it seemed that I lost my motivation, but Julia and my coach Toma always found words for me. I am really grateful to them for their patience
Toma is incredible! I love everything about her. Her feedbacks are always thorough. And if I struggled some sounds more than others, she suggested me working tips, that helped me a deal.

The course helped me not only to make my pronunciation better, but it also renewed my attitude to English. It was more than ten years when I read books in English or watched films in original or authentic videos. I've read five books already for the last three months and everyday I watch something in English.
The course became more than just accent course for me.

I signed up for the course thinking that I'd prove to those guys that I was good enough and woe to those who overlooked what a diamond I am (yikes :D). So, now to the course. This was the most comprehensive course I've ever attended. I got lots and lots of information and this proved that phonetics is not a big scary monster. It's the first time in my life that I've actually started enjoying all things pronunciation. This course is not a ticket to an amazing pronunciation because you've got to work really hard on your own and, most improtantly, after the course. Having said that, this course is enough to lay a solid foundation and instill confidence in the way you sound. It just opens the door to an amazing world of phonetics and it's up to how far you'll decide to venture.

Julia is a wonderful teacher and a testament to the fact that a non-native speaker can achieve so much. She is dedicated and passionate. This is the teacher you'd like to emulate and learn from. I'm very greatful for her support and feedback. I think the girls dubbed me something like a Negative Nancy because of my constant moaning and groaning, which I'm aware of and which is hard to shake off. :D

So, what have I gained from the course? One thing is a firm grounding in American features of pronunciation. Another is having more confidence in the way I sound and my abilities. Now I don't fret about those job interviews because (I just dodged the bullet lol :D) if I had been hired, I probably wouldn't have signed up for the course and have not gone through this amazing experience.
Overall, very educational and therapeutic at the same time.

Feedbacks are another beauty of the course. What an ear you must have to hear the slightest slip! Not only that: Julia knows exactly what is happening in your mouth and it takes her few seconds and a couple of clear explanations to fix it. It's been a miracle in my book!
To be perfectly candid with you, the course is pretty challenging (kiss your laziness and shyness good bye). I would have second thoughts about going on, if it was not our Julia.
