Accent Booster

This is my second pronunciation course with Julia. I loved it to pieces!
I fell in love with the Boost your American accent course right off the bat. I couldn't even imagine that studying phonetics could be exciting and fun. It is intensive and hard, but the course is so well-planned and organized. The course was full of eureka and aha moments for me. I mean with new shadowing piece, with new common mistake and tips task, and generous feedback, the missing pieces of the puzzle started to fit together and my understanding of the world of phonetics and myself expanded.
I also discovered my passions - I love acting out and living through intonation patterns and other people's emotions through shadowing pieces. What's more, doing the course on Telegram, was immersive and awesome!
I miss our American accent Telegram community and look forward to another accent course with Julia🙋‍♀️

The Accent Booster course exceeded all my expectations. You won’t get ordinary phonetic drills, but rather dive headlong into powerful techniques of native speakers' shadowing exploring rhythm, melody, and intonation. I must give it to Julia – an excellent selection of contemporary speakers to mimic - modern published poets, world renowned psychologists, life coaches, rapers, cartoons – you name it! This is truly the modern American English – bold, dynamic, vivid, bright as the living language! One can argue that the course teaches you to talk as social media, but this is the new frontier of language evolution and that’s how America speaks nowadays.
This course is fundamentally different from any of the “5-minutes-a-day" apps in its seriousness and structure. Let me assure you - Julie will be on your ass (and yes, you’ll master to pronounce [on your ass] to perfection)). She will help to move your plateaus and push your limits to ensure that your speech gradually shifts effectively. Prepare to work extensively during the course and enjoy the results that follow.

As someone who has been learning English for decades and has worked with many private teachers, I know how difficult it is to find someone who truly matches your level and expectations. The coaches at this school are absolute nerds in the best sense of the word. They are perfectionists who have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and effort to mastering pronunciation theory and refining their own speech. I honestly cannot imagine how much work stands behind their expertise.

Because of this, the course was a rare opportunity to receive guidance from people who genuinely know what they’re doing. They understand your difficulties better than anyone else because they have personally overcome each of those challenges. Their advice is precise, practical, and rooted in real experience.

I noticed very real improvements in my own pronunciation and listening. My listening skills have improved significantly: when I talk with my American colleagues, I now hear reductions and connected-speech patterns that I never noticed before. I catch phrases more easily and understand fluent speech much better. My speaking has become more confident because I now know how to reduce and link sounds the same way native speakers do.

The course pushes you to work hard. Knowing how much attention the coach pays to every detail, you naturally become more self-critical and motivated to strive for perfection. Even when you feel you’ve completely nailed a shadowing task, you receive a detailed list of notes on subtle sounds that can be improved. And that’s the moment you realize that every cent spent on the course is absolutely worth it.

I really love this course, I'm super happy I joined. I'm learning a lot of new tricks while trying to get rid of old habits, which i had a lot 🫢
The course is very intense, as you can see I'm catching up today on a lot of missed excersises LOL...
But I wouldn't vote to reduce the amount of homework. 
I do think I'm improving my pronunciation little by little. Of course, it will take more time and a lot of practice to sound like you do but I'm on the right track 😁

Honestly, I like everything about the course❤️ it’s my first experience with something like this, so I didn’t expect to have so many tasks and feedback, but I actually love it. It’s super helpful, and I can definitely feel some improvement already. At the same time, I’ve noticed that when I speak fast and don’t pay attention to my accent, I can really hear how much more work I still have to do and train my brain to use that knowledge. But overall, I’m enjoying the process and learning a lot.
