I jam completely satisfied with the marathon. It's totally worth it. A lot of useful information and most importantly I understood the main technique of shadowing, what details i should pay attention to. Now I feel like I can continue working on pronunciation myself.

All the explanations are very clear. For me this marathon was a great nudge to start paying attention to how I sound and how important it is. I even had some insights of how I can help my students sound more fluent and understand native speakers better.

I just fell in love with this marathon. It met all my expectations. I managed to refresh the information I got on Julia's pronunciation course and nail a bunch of sounds which didn't pan out before. Moreover, we scrutinized a plethora of intonation patterns. Everything was based on up-to-date talks, songs and TV snippets so it was a pleasure to work with modern language. Julia's scripts provided a great visual support and facilitated the learning process. Needless to say, that Julia's a top-notch expert and her video tutorials dialed down all the hindrances and motivated to continue working afterwards. Thank you big time!

The best thing that could happen during this marathon is what I wasn't expecting at all - it boosted my self-esteem: I started to like the way I sound (I'm not sure if I like it when I speak Russian) which is incredible! I was taking pleasure in the process every minute I practiced and listened to Julia's analyses (which are so flawless and well-thought!). I managed to take part in all three online webinars which were full of extra practice and even more detailed work on complicated sounds and phrases. I really liked the songs in week1, after these videos it became easier for me to understand other songs when I hear them, to see how singers connect words in a different way. Thank you Julia for your support and tremendous work that you did to help us sound better!

I am not going to lie, I have never done phonetics in such a detailed way before! This Marathon has changed my life. At first, I was shocked. I wasn't taught English phonetics that way. There were so many aspects I have never met before. It nearly blew my mind. Thanks to this course I also began to understand English films and shows much better. It was awesome. This marathon is amazing! I couldn't find any time to practise the shadowing technique myself so I decided to participate. It was quite challenging at the beginning but it got much easier with practice. The explanations are really detailed. I enjoyed every task! Try it yourself!

I must admit that it was a tad challenging for me! First, I had to overcome my fear of sending my videos and audios to public. Second, there was bunch of homework and it took a lot of time. I recorded myself 10 times a day until I got the satisfying results. However it helped me pretty much. It became easier day by day. And I started to understand more of fluent speech, the quirks of American pronunciation, some reductions and plosions. Thanks for it! I would love to join the second round!

This marathon was first in my life and I'm so enthused about it!!! It turned out to be beyond my wildest dreams!!! Julia explains every single peculiarity of English: features of sounds and their combinations, connected speech, intonation, you name it. Julia sends by far the most detailed explanation to each snippet. Thanks to it shadowing becomes so absorbing that you're eager to practise time and again. And after it you realise that you imitate an English speech way easier, some peculiarities naturally spring to mind On top of that, there are so many extra tasks for boosting your speaking skills. And even though, the marathon is over, I have so many riveting tasks for practising)))

I've passed Julia's pronunciation marathon and wanna tell that it's very useful even if you are really pressed for time. Like many others I hesitated whether to participate or not (sounds like "to be, or not to be"). Then I decided not to shadow but to listen to Julia's explanations and to improve my listening comprehension skills. Highly recommend Julia's pronunciation marathon! It really shows all the peculiarities of modern pronunciation, various accents, etc. and helps to understand even pressured speech. Julia, thank you very much one more time!

I really enjoyed the marathon. I felt improvements right after 2 weeks of practicing! Learnt lots of new and now know how to do shadowing! It's the thing I wanted to work on after taking part in Julia's pronunciation course!

I took part in Julia's Pronunciation Marathon, and I didn't even imagine that it would give me so much joy! At the same time I must admit that some of the tasks were really challenging for me. We practiced Shadowing technique at Uni, but we only repeated after the speaker, without any analysis. Julia provided us with a detailed instructions before each task.
I've noticed that this Marathon helped me with my listening skills and reading skills (when I read aloud). And now I can hear some phonetic peculiarities while watching a video/listening to an audio recording. In my opinion this marathon is top notch, it concerns all Julia's projects.

I was hesitating to participate in Julia's marathon or not… because I was really tired of work and daily routine. In the nick of time I decided to try to do my best to work on my pronunciation, because I got a real result from her course. I have never thought that I would enjoy the marathon so much making videos, posting them on Instagram, sharing with family and friends and being so proud of myself. Now I feel more confident! There are a lot of tips which I can share with my students! I am over the moon! I told her to wait for me in spring, in another marathon "

This marathon is really a great help for everyone who wants to improve dramatically pronunciation. It's not only about working on you pronunciation and intonation, but also about support, motivation and inspiration.

Well, friends! Though I wasn't an excellent student, I got much from the marathon and the pronunciation course.

Firstly, confidence in my speech.

Before the course and marathon I gained my mixed British-American accent via self work - shadowing the way I saw it. But you know it wasn't enough. I couldn't check myself out. I needed a professional assessment and background. I got it!

Now when I hear the speech I can explain why it happens, reproduce it and explain it to my students, which was tough before. (It was one of my goals )

Secondly, awesomely detailed Julia's feedbacks Every single sound, articulation- everything was explained and corrected. It helped A LOT!

Thirdly, now I know the way shadowing must be done!

I'm showered with compliments to my pronunciation.
I sound better! I expanded my educational programs, included some pronunciation tips there.

I took Julia's full pronunciation course a year ago, and now joined the marathon to revise and practise some more. The marathon has absolutely met my expectations: all Julia's videos, small extra tasks included, are super useful and easy to work with. I feel more confident when speaking, and I enjoy the way my speech sounds once again. Yet I'm finishing the marathon with a slight feeling of regret as I realize that it could have been so much more beneficial if only I'd had the time and energy to do all the tasks instead of doing the required minimum. When it comes to improving pronunciation, you really need to put in some time and effort to see the results. But Julia is definitely the right person to turn to for guidance Thank you for being an inspiration!
